Papad Ki Sabji

What Is Papad..?

A papadum (also called papad or papar) is a thin, crisp, round flatbread from India. It is typically based on a seasoned dough usually made from peeled black gram flour (urad flour), either fried or cooked with dry heat (usually flipping it over an open flame). Flours made from other sources such as lentils, chickpeas, rice, tapioca, certain millets or potato can be used.

In certain parts of India, papadums which have been dried, but not cooked, are used in curries and vegetable dishes. Papadums have been a part of the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent for generations and are an intrinsic part of everyday meals.

Ingredients -

  • 2 Papad

  • 2 tbsp Oil

  • 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds

  • 1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds

  • 1/2 tbsp Red chilli powder

  • 1 cup Water

  • 1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder

  • 1/2 tbsp Coriander powder

  • 1/4 tbsp Garam masala

  • 3 tbsp Curd

  • 1 tbsp Salt to taste

  • Green chilli

  • Kasturi methi

  • Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions -

  • Firstly roast papad from both sides.

  • Then in a pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and water and mix.

  • Then add curd and mix well.

  • Let it come to a boil and then add roasted Papad pieces in it.

  • Add garam masala, kasturi methi and mix well.

  • Tasty Papad Sabji is ready.
