Rajasthani Ghasela (Khatta Besan)
What Is Ghasela..?
Rajasthani Ghasela is made with the combination of besan and all the spice powders. It is a perfect dish to eat when you are out of vegetables in your fridge. It is easy and takes less than 20 minutes to cook this recipe.
Serve Rajasthani Ghasela Recipe as a side dish with Panchmel dal and Khooba Roti or the phulkas for a perfect weekday meal. It is known as Khatta Besan in gujarat and is often prepared in rainy season.
1 cup Buttermilk
1 bowl Gram flour
1/2 tbsp Red Chilli powder
1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste (2 tbsp)
5 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Mustard seeds
1/2 tbsp Cumin seeds
Pinch of Asafoetida
Ginger-Garlic (finely chopped)
2-3 Green Chillies (chopped)
1 bowl chopped Onion
Coriander leaves (chopped) for garnishing
In a mixing bowl take buttermilk and add gram flour, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt in it and whisk well. Make sure no lumps are formed.
Now in a hot pan heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pinch of asafoetida and finely chopped ginger-garlic, chopped green chillies and saute.
Add chopped onion and cook till translucent. Then add salt and cook.
Then add the gram flour solution in it and mix well. Cover and cook for 7 minutes. After 7 minutes open the lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Serve tasty hot Ghasela with pouring oil on it.
