What is Malai Pyaaz Ki Sabji..?
Malai Pyaaz is an authentic Rajasthani recipe. It is cooked with lots of onion, basic spices and generous quantity of Malai. If you don’t know what malai is, it is the fresh cream which we take out of milk. For this recipe, use only fresh malai or you can use cream from the market.
Rich in flavor and crunchy in taste, it is the perfect recipe if you are out of vegetables or want to try something different. Malai Pyaaz can be served with roti or paratha.
5 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Mustard Seeds
1 tbsp Cumin seeds
1 pinch Asafoetida
6-7 sliced Onions
1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
Salt to taste (1 tbsp)
1/2 tbsp Red Chilli powder
1 tbsp Coriander powder
1/4 tbsp Garam Masala
2 tbsp fresh Cream
Coriander for garnishing
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and pinch of asafoetida. Then add chopped green chillies, and sliced onions and saute for 2-3 minutes.
Add turmeric powder and salt.
Mix well and cover and cook for about 5 minutes. After 5 minutes again saute.
Then add red chilli powder, coriander powder and garam masala and combine well. Saute and cook for 2 minutes. Again cover and cook for 2 minutes.
After 2 minutes add fresh cream and combine well and cook for 2 minutes.
Malai Pyaaz Ki Sabji is ready to serve with hot roti and enjoy..
