Veg Steamed Momos



What Is Momo..?

Momo is a type of steamed dumpling with some form of filling. Momo has become a traditional delicacy in Nepal, Tibet, as well as among Nepalese and Tibetan communities in Bhutan, as well as people of Ladakh, Northeast India and Darjeeling regions of India.






Ingredients -


For Dough =

  • 1 cup All purpose flour

  • 1 tsp Salt

  • Water for kneading dough

For Stuffing =

  • 1 tbsp Oil

  • 1 tbsp Ginger - Garlic Paste

  • 2 Green chillies

  • 1 cup Cabbage (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup Carrot (chopped)

  • 1/2 cup Bell pepper (chopped)

  • 1/2 tbsp Salt in stuffing

  • 1/2 tbsp Black pepper

  • 1/2 tbsp Soya sauce



Instructions -

  • In a bowl take all purpose flour add salt and water and knead a soft dough.

  • Now place a pan on the stove and add oil, ginger-garlic paste and saute for few seconds.

  • Then add chopped cabbage, chopped carrot, chopped bell pepper and combine well. Stir and cook. Don't over cook it.

  • Turn off the flame and add salt as per taste and black pepper, little soya sauce and mix well. Cool the stuffing.

  • Now take a lemon sized ball and roll thin. Then place momos stuffing and start making pleats.

  • Seal the top tightly.

  • Place these momos in the steamer and steam for 10 minutes.

  • After 10 minutes momos are perfectly ready.

  • Serve tasty Veg Momos with momo chutney and enjoy..
